A couple of months back, I mentioned I had some irons in the fire to help others in the authorsphere that I couldn’t wait to share with you. One (three?) of those are so close to becoming ready!

Over the past couple of years, I’ve received certifications in different aspects of the life coaching business, among them the certification as a Professional Life Coach. I’ve decided to add three more in which I have a deep passion–Entrepreneurship and Finding Your Life Purpose (they kind of go hand-in-hand) and Sobriety Coaching. What does this have to do with authors, you ask? Good question! 🙂
When one decides to become an independent author, they aren’t only an author. They are a business. One can’t just write and “throw it out there.” And as you can probably guess, there are a LOT of revolving parts to a business, even if it’s just a one-person deal. I’m here to assist and guide the “business owner” and other individuals to thrive by working through blocks to reach their life’s purpose. To not fully live one’s dream is not fully living.
As for the sobriety coaching certification, it’s not a secret that addictions are plenty in the creative fields.
I, for one, was worried how I would ever be able to write if I didn’t have a glass of wine or something on the rocks beside me. I argued (with myself) that it wasn’t possible. Ironically, it wasn’t until I quit that publication and business ownership became my reality. Addiction affects millions worldwide, and while a sober coach isn’t a replacement for medical help or support groups (think AA and NA), it’s a supplement to keep one’s sobriety. Another name for this aspect of coaching is a sober companion. Maybe, like the TV series Elementary, I’ll come across a Sherlock Holmes and become his Watson, solving crimes in real life and not just in my books! LOL!
