What do your summers look like? Structured? Loosey-goosey?
In the past, I’ve allowed myself more downtime during the summer months, yet held a “loose” schedule. But as much as I love summer, I decided to give myself a break this year and fly by the seat of my pants, enjoying each day as each moment unfolds. It was amazing for the first month. It taught me to play, to be flexible, and to fully enjoy life.
Until I realized how undisciplined I am. As we say in Minnesota…
Uffda!
Suddenly everything became due at the same time and caused so much undue stress. 🤦♀️
All that to say I am super stoked to begin a schedule again. I’ve realized I can still enjoy each moment as it unfolds during a schedule and not just outside of one. In fact, there’s more enjoyment. I think it comes from years of working in the legal field where schedules and deadlines are a huge part of the job. As of the writing of this newsletter, I’ve set a loose schedule until Monday, August 19th when I’ll follow a more structured day. Between now and then, my husband is having significant surgery, so he’s my priority.
What about you? Do you thrive on a schedule? If you do, what does your schedule look like?

My husband and I celebrated our 21st wedding anniversary in Estes Park. We’ve been going there every year for our anniversary and even spent our honeymoon there. We owned a condo there for seven years and miss it terribly.

Talk to me–what are you reading? Do you have recommendations? What have you been doing with your summer?
