Merry Christmas!

I hope December is being kind to you all. After hearing what the temps are in Minnesota (a high of -6 today!), I’m grateful to live in Colorado. I took a walk after our last snow to brainstorm scenes for my current WIP. A beautiful way to feed my creativity.

I’ve got two projects in the works—revisions of book 4 in The Spirit Lake Mysteries, Inn the Buried Secrets, and the first draft of book 5 in the series, as yet without a title.

The Adams County Holiday Bazaar last weekend was, as usual, extremely fun. Connecting with readers and hearing the words, “Oh, good you’re back! Do you have a new one out?” make my day!

What are you all reading?

I finished listening to the audiobook of Stein on Writing. Absolutely phenomenal advice—easily 5 stars!

I bought Murder at Holly House as one of Barnes and Noble’s $5 reads, but didn’t get too far into it before I passed it along to the little free library on the corner of our block. I’m sure the story was probably good, but I wasn’t a fan of the writing style.

Alex Cross Must Die—I love the Alex Cross series by James Patterson. Every time I read one of them, and despite the violent nature of the story, I love the family dynamics and the partnership between Alex Cross and John Sampson. 5 stars!

I’m on the last 30 pages of The Overlook by Michael Connelly. Any story including Bosch or The Lincoln Lawyer is a win for me. And Michael Connelly’s writing is hard to beat.

Let’s talk…

What are your Christmas plans? New Year’s? Do you have any time-honored (or new) traditions to share? What is your favorite part of the holiday season?
