Honoring All Who Served

IMG_1205

Thank you to those who have given some and to those who have given all. To those who have served and to those who are. And to the families behind those who serve.

Because of you, we have our freedom and blessings far beyond anything we’d have without you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Today as we honor our veterans and those still fighting the fight so we can have freedom in our great country, I want to say Thank You!

Thank you for your commitment.

Thank you for your service.

Thank you for giving your life so that we can have ours.

Thank you for giving so selflessly so that we may “have.”

Thank you for giving up time with your families that we may have time with ours.

And thank you for the ultimate sacrifice of YOU.

Today, let’s honor, pray for, and give thanks to the men and women of our great country who are too often forgotten as we live the life we have because of their sacrifice.

Happy Memorial Day!

Remembering Our Heros

Remembering always, but especially today, our heroes who have fought for our freedom, for all the privileges we have because of them, many literally giving all they have to be sure we have a safe place to raise our children. May we honor those who have sacrificed all and gave their lives that we may live ours.

“I only regret that I have but one life to lose for my country.”–Nathan Hale

And I’m proud to be an American, where at least I know I’m free, and I won’t forget the men who died, who gave that right to me and I’ll proudly stand next to him to defend her still today, ‘cuz there ain’t no doubt I love this land, god bless the USA.”   -Lee Greenwood

As we enjoy this day off from work, celebrating with friends and family, may we remember the real heroes of this day.  All those who have fought for our country, those still fighting, and the families keeping the home fires burning while their loved one is defending our freedom so that we may enjoy this life we live.

The Price of Freedom

Daily life can be so fraught with activity between work and the to-do lists that many of us continually strive to complete. But on this day, Memorial Day, let’s make it a priority to take time to stop, pause, and pray. Let’s give thanks to Christ who fought and paid for our ultimate freedom, and the many men and women who have fought, and continue to fight, to give our country freedom that becomes so easy to take for granted as we blindly and methodically walk through our days.

While I am able to have a barbecue feast with my family and loved ones this day, sit on the porch in the shade of the trees, a refreshing, cool Arnold Palmer on the table beside me, I watch the stars and stripes of the American flag that waves gently in the breeze in my back yard, and remember those who aren’t able to enjoy this day with their loved ones because they are fighting for, or have given their lives for, our country.  That we may continue to enjoy the magnificent freedoms we have.

Today, may we pay our soldiers homage and say a prayer for them, that God will return them safely to their families to enjoy the freedom they fight so hard for, as well as a prayer of thanksgiving for what they do for us each and every day they fight the good fight.

Grace to you.
